Mainly users see that it is pointless. ---
Background: I have been using Greasemonkey and Platypus for a while and for my main-stay sites it is still a must. That said Readability has cut down on my need to alter one off webpages considerably. I love the power that Greasemonkey gives to the ordinary user (although with the sad future loss of platypus it will be greatly reduced). --- But this is not a post about platypus, I just mention it to show how I came to Greasemonkey initially... so back to my main point. >Mainly users see that it is pointless. (to complain)... Possibly because they have read the terribly patronizing post on the AMO review section relating to Greasemonkey. Lets just have a little taste eh? "No one is forcing you to update. But myself and the other devs are going to work to improve GM not maintain the status quo, so please refrain from making useless negative reviews in protest." Well of course the number of people bothering to complain is going to be low after reading that! Why bother no one is going to listen? I did pop over here and the whole tone is weird. You have the few brave souls who do say that the removal of the Manager is a negative, starting out their posts with effusive praise of Greasemonkey and the devs, and then daring to voice polite criticism. Then BANG they get slapped down hard for daring to have a contrary opinion, wow its just surreal. Yeah we get that you are the devs and what you say goes but do you really have act like this? I use and will continue to use Greasemonkey and I have updated all my scripts to fall in with the new way of doing things include wise. I don't agree with the dropping of some form of manager but thats your call. You guys are doing all the work so it really is your call and I have no problem with that. But the way you speak to your users is amazing. I suggest you have a look at the Ubuntu code of conduct or how the Mozilla people manage to "get things done" while still keeping things civil. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "greasemonkey-users" group.
