Two employees of the Juvenile Home at Poojappura were arrested for beating up some inmates of the Home, while three employees are still absconding.

The arrests have been made as per the inmates statement recorded by the Chief Judicial Magistrate. The arrested employees were later produced before the court and were remanded to the police custody.

They been identified as Sajeesh and Rofer Raj and those absconding were Sunil, Salim and Somasekharan, all of whom were working as caretakers at the Juvenile Home.

According to reports from the Poojappura police station, the problem started when Sunil, an employee beat up the inmates including Satheesh, Rajesh, Ajit, Aneesh and Akhil, following the escape of another inmate from the Home. When the assault became unbearable, other inmates tried to flee the place. This further provoked the employees and they beat the children up more severely.

Later, as per the orders of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, the inmates were shifted to the General Hospital.
