Dont be authoritative on thinks you dont know.

You may be a budding expert. I am explaining it for other list members

Message Headers & X-IP fields are widely used in internet to identify
User contributions & User locations to give Location specific services.
while you are giving google.com in browser it changes to google.co.in by
taking IP as an input Parameter

For Gmail & Yahoo users There is are options for viewing Full email
Headers.

See a simple explanation of Email Headers here
<http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=29436&topic=8263&security=1>

Finding IP's are verymuch used in spam identification techniques.
GeoLocation Mapping etc an GeoLocation Map for the webviews of
Greenyouth Email list is available at
<http://www2.clustrmaps.com/counter/maps.php?url=http://groups.google.com/group/greenyouth>

Rajeendra Kumar says "Gmail does not carry sender IP" is because he is
so much believing in email privacy policies.

but in a lot of his messages you can simply find an X-Originating-IP
field like what I found

If you Geolocated That Data You can simply Find the Place as Calicut &
it is related to National Internet Backbone. 1000s of tools are
available on line for that ( i am using a custom commandline script)

Dear Rajeender,

Since the issues become technical than content let me counter in that way.
You are misleaded by Gmail Privacy Policy
<http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=26903>

This is flawed for three reasons:

1. An IP address is not personal information by any reasonable
definition of that term
2. While the HTTP step is obviously not covered in the SMTP protocol
standard and a received header recording it is technically not
mandatory, both by common consensus and to be consistent with the spirit
of RFC2821 <http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2821.html> a proper header is at
the very least courteous and
3. Gmail's own approach to this alleged privacy issue is inconsistent

What do I mean by that last statement? Check the sample received headers
from a Gmail sent not via the Gmail web interface but using an email
client like Mozilla Thunderbird, and submitted via Gmail's inbound MSA.

There is a simple technique too by using googles SPF records.

IP Location is city specific Not Provider Specific. Your IP is Allocated
 with National Internet back bone & It is calicut Specific.

> Disgustingly stupid. Who do you think you are? Cybercop?

All These are Public data & Under Public Domain. I tracked the Location
of message because In a non-tech list you tried to criminalise me by
FUDing (Fear , Uncertainty, Doubt) about cyberstalking. So I
differentiated both by taking your message as an example. just remember,
location of messages nay not linked with user locations. it only mean
that that IP is accessed the page(may be a proxy) for sending the
message. It only talks about an instance.

We may not using all these data available in public domain for our
purposes. I cant agree with limiting that to "cybercrop" or Microsoft
or google. The Public data with Read Right access Creates the frame for
a social technologies that owned by the Society.
