Dear Raju,

   I am not saying that everything is fine elsewhere. But a distinction
should be made about being a critic and an opponent. Hope you have read the
article by Swaminathan Aiyar. I more or less agree with his view that the
current land acquisition policies and laws are oppressive and deprive people
of their ownership and livelihood. This is not neoliberalism, is in fact
runs counter to the very ideas of neoliberalism, that is individual freedom
and private ownership. Whether you want to replace the system with failed
ideologies or correct the system is what makes the difference.

Maybe I am, but it is not meant as an ad hominem, but as a pointer to a
widespread malaise among Leftist intellectuals.
