Untill and unless a capacity to speak for a dalit woman, is she a just pre-political subject?
dalits are treated as pre-political subjects by msot of these "activisms" thts why such uproar whenever Dalits Speak up. Dalit women r also imagined in the same token by many including dalit men, ngo activism, savarna feminsm etc. but Dalit women have blasted all these arguements with strong theoretical insights and polemical warnings. Bama says in her interview: " ...when next time another nun asked (wht's ur caste?) , i replied. "Harijan". Then she said, "NO you are joking" That was a powerful moment for me. when i revealed my identity she was not able to take it......... i could easily sense her DISCOMFORT when she realised the boldness of my answer."
