The recent developments in Chengara are quite alarming. Just now, in Indiavision I saw Kodiyeri alleging the role of 'foreign hand' and 'external forces' behind the struggle. [ VSAchuthanandan paved the way by branding evicted/ struggling Mulampalli residents as Naxalites]
We could expect such fascist campaign from CPIM and brutal action from the state government in coming days. Kodiyeri said, it was not the genuin urge of landless Adivasis that was expressed in Chengra and nobody could sustain such a protracted struggle without help from outside. Exactly!! It is a [nonviolent]political struggle going on for almost seven months. Dalits and pther landless people are waging it, not Adivasis. Leave Kodiyeri, at least scribes in India Vision should be ashamed that they are stilll in in total darkness about this significant struggle. [ Such ignorence cost human lives , dear media friends] Souldn't Dalit's organise and engage in political activity? Whom do Kodiyeri refer to as 'external' forces? The poor Dalit and other landless people? Dalit organisations? True, there are human beings in plenty who are still 'outsiders' in Kerala nation. Even a one day fast in front of secretariat by Chennithala grabs the attention of Kerala's political imagination. But a non violent satygraha by more than 5000 families for seven months is a nonevent for the politicians and media. We all should be ashamed that we are still unaware of the history haapening in our times..
