This is tragic, violent, and boundlessly abhorrent.
It is high time that the Judiciary and the GOI take stock of the
situation linked with the continuance of the nonsensical piece of
criminal legislation ,ie; IPC Sec 377, in the statute book. But how
comfortably many of the decent folks of our time get along with a
cultural/moral discourse circling around a desi/videsi concept of
sexuality is to be reckoned as well.
This is indeed, a contributory factor to the tragedy.
Sadly, in our day to day lives quite a lot of us not only do nothing
to stop this kind of direct or indirect violence afflicted on who are
not conforming, knowingly or unknowingly ,we may even be giving
support to the umpteen self-congratulating ways through which the
hetero normativity is reproduced.
