It has been widely argued that secular feminism cannot do much for the women of marginalized communities... Asma Barlas has demonstrated at length that the internal patriarchy and external anti-islamic prejudices of western secularism are two different enemies that a muslim woman has to confront with... The rights that you judge out as not to be seen as "positive" were those "small things" that many Islamic feminists (some of them don't like to be called by the name feminists itself) were fighting for years... Some recent modifications in the Sharia laws in Indonesia were the result of such painful struggles of the "Sisters of Islam"
