Dear friends, Recently a Rajya Sabha committee report on a programme developed by the Ministry of Human Resources Development to impart adolescence education to children over 14, was made public. This committee, headed by Venkaiah Naidu was in response to a petition filed against this Adolescence Education Progamme. The committee recommended that there should be no sex education in schools and went on to pick up the same tired illogical arguments that sex education will lead to promiscuity among the students. In this context i...@15 national advocacy initiative has launched a signature campaign against this committee's recommendation. To strengthen this effort we are holding a discussion to understand the issues involved and use the signature campaign as a well to initiate and increase the discussion on this issue.
