Sometime back one of the functionaries of the UCPN(M), in an
interview, talked of resuming insurgency.
On the other hand, Prachanda is everyday talking of pulling down the
incumbent government and installing a new one under his/his party's
leadership.
But it's just not working.
The mass protest programme despite considerable organised strength has
remained just that; it has no way graduated to remotely close to
another "jan andolan" - a spontaneous outburst of massive popular
protests, which had unseated the monarchy.

So these bombasts jostles with promises for greater "flexibility".

And, at times, such tightrope walking - constant switching between
radical noises and promises of, and readiness for, compromise as long
as it gets the "chair" back - makes you look utterly silly. Not any
more "legitimate".

In any case, what Prachanda (the Fierce one) has reportedly said, to
his credit, is pretty original. No known precedent for that.
(The permission will be sought from the UNSC or UNGA? Let's wait for
the (pretty unlikely) petition. That would be great fun.)
