‘*Boogola’ – A Social Planet of Film Folks*

Boogola.com, a Kerala based initiative, an online platform to team up and
interact with film-based and film-interested potential talents all over the
world has been set in motion online. Boogola is the world’s first initiative
to network film people, and it has a special perseverance in promoting
co-production, co-marketing of films and cross exchange of film talents
worldwide. Boogola has been dedicated for established and emerging script
writers, directors, producers, technicians, actors, animators, marketing
talents, film critics and audience.

Its present prototype concept has two segments – Boogola base [
www.boogola.com] and Moviebase [www.moviebase.boogola.com]. While Boogola
base enables modern social networking platform, the Moviebase facilitates to
aggregate and disseminate film based news and information around the world.
It is embedded with several second generation social communication tools
like blogging, micro-blogging, video blogging, news aggregation, online
bookmarking and wikia components. Currently the Boogola uses new generation
opensource technology.

Moreover, the initiative will turn as a solution to the long prevailing
constraints in the movie production chain like fragmentation of production
system, unpredictability of box-office conditions, low risk taking ability
and low investment capability of producers and production houses, weak
market orientation, low value addition, low availability of credit support,
nexus of intermediaries in value chain, weak institutional interventions,
global market information asymmetry, copyright violation and piracy etc.

Furthermore, now, film folks can glance through all news and information
about IFFK, 2009 on Boogola and its component Moviebase.
