*Star Online Report*

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will head the 49 member cabinet which includes
29 ministers, 17 state ministers and two deputy ministers.

The new cabinet was sworn in this afternoon by President Abdul Hamid at his
office-cum-residence Bangabhaban.

The president first administered the oath to Awami League chief Hasina as
the prime minister of the country.

Later, 29 cabinet ministers, 17 state ministers and two deputy ministers
were sworn in in phases.

The president had earlier invited Hasina who was elected the Leader of the
AL Parliamentary Party to form the government. The AL won the brute
majority in the January 5 10th parliament election which was boycotted by
the opposition parties.

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad also attended the swearing-in ceremony as a
guest.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who was also invited as a guest however did not
turn up for the event.

A tea party will be held there after the event, sources said.

Over a thousand guests including diplomats have been invited to the
ceremony, sources at the cabinet division said earlier.

Meanwhile, a total of 35 additional new cars have been added to the
Transport Pool to the Secretariat for the new ministers of the "all-party"
