Patna: RJD boss Lalu Prasad and his son and deputy chief minister
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Sunday questioned BJP after some pictures
went viral showing Union minister of state for MSME Giriraj Singh
sharing dais with the alleged Intermediate toppers' scam mastermind
Bachcha Roy at the controversial Vishun Roy College in Vaishali
district. While posting on his twitter handle and Facebook page some
of the pictures of Giriraj with Bachcha, Tejashwi tweeted, "Modi's fav
minister with scam accused & his father. He is a business partner and
family friend of main culprit Bachcha Roy." In another tweet, he
wrote, "Sharing pics of aid of toppers scam culprit & renowned central
minister. Hope few media houses will not hesitate to do character
assassination."

Sharing on his twitter handle a report published in a Hindi daily,
Tejashwi also said Bachcha admitted to the investigating officers that
he had links with a Union minister and that Roy was planning to open a
medical college with the help of that minister. "The main culprit has
cordial relations with a central minister who regularly joins his
college functions to distribute prizes to the toppers. All
malpractices of dis collage were taking place probably by
encouragement of him. ModiJi's Minister wanted to open a Medical
collage with culprit," Tejashwi said in another tweet.

While retweeting Tejashwi's tweets, Lalu asked, "What BJP got to say
on it? Remember crores of crore rupees were recovered from this
minister's house, whose money it was?"

It may be recalled that cash and valuables were stolen from Giriraj's
Anandpuri flat in the city on July 8, 2014. Singh had initially told
Patna police about theft of only Rs 50,000, but one Dinesh, who was
arrested the next day with Rs 1.14 crore besides US$600, gold and
silver jewellery and six costly watches, told the Pirbahore police
that he had stolen the cash and valuables from Giriraj's flat.

In a counter-attack on BJP for alleging that strict actions were not
being taken against 'tainted' lawmakers of the ruling alliance, Bihar
CM Nitish Kumar had also asked what action the saffron party had taken
against Giriraj after recovery of Rs1.14 crore stolen from his flat.

When contacted by reporters, Giriraj admitted that he had gone to
Bachcha's college as he was invited to distribute certificates. "But,
did I ask Bachcha and Lalkeshwar (former BSEB chairman) to do the
toppers' scam?" Giriraj quipped. He said CM Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi
should resign as the toppers' scam took place during their regime.
