UP Minister Suresh Rana Eats Food Cooked by 'Halwai' During 'Surprise' Visit to Dalit's House Updated: May 2, 2018 11:17 AM IST By India.com News Desk Lucknow, May 2: Uttar Pradesh Minister Suresh Rana is caught in a controversy after he was seen eating food cooked by ‘halwai’ during his “surprise” visit at a Dalit’s home in Aligarh. Videos of Rana featsing at the Dalit family’s house are going viral on the Internet. Rana can be seen eating food pre-cooked by a cook and not by the Dalit family at their home. The video shows a coffee machine, Bisleri water bottles, gulab jamun and poori chholey among other dishes served in large vessels at the Dalit’s home when Rana visited. The Congress has hit out at Rana saying the Bharatiya Janata Party doesn’t respect Dalits but only wants their vote. Congress leader Rashid Alvi, while speaking to Zee News Hindi, said that Rana shouldn’t have visited the Dalit family’s house if he had to insult them like this. Rana, however, defended himself saying that it was the Dalit families that made such arrangements since he had more people accompanying him to Lohagarh in Aligarh district. He said that he ate the food cooked by both the Dalit family as well as the halwai.
