God's Own Country is facing a peculiar crisis in its relation with God. The
question is who owns God? Men or women? The LDF has taken a stand that both
men and women are equal in front of God. BJP, NSS and Congress claim that
they are not. There is a confusion between tradition and Indian
Constitution. The tradition can supply votes. The Indian Constitution may
not. The question is who will decide on behalf of God? Tantri? Pinarayi
Vijayayan? BJP or RSS? NSS or Congress? Or the Kerala Police? The real
question in front of the 100 per cent literate and educated Keralites is
that their half the population do not have rights, despite the Supreme
Court Order. The BJP Kerala state Chairperson, Sreedharan Pillai has
articulated so well that they would fix the `agenda' for Kerala. I have no
doubts, looking at the scope of the ideological commitment and the cadre
strength of the secular community and the women's movement in Kerala. But
God is divided between women's rights, adivasi rights, environmental issues
and the secular interests as per Indian Constitution. Only Ayyappa can save
the situation. Since I do not belong to any of these identities, let me go
for a drink.😊
