A not too remarkably appealing speech - even if quite appropriately (though not too neatly) woven around the vital issues of (i) the serious economic woes of the vast majority of Indians - the widening gulf between the rich and the poor, the intensifying problem of unemployment further aggravated by loss of jobs, systematic destruction of the informal, small and medium sectors of the economy to benefit the corporates in general and the cronies in particular; (ii) deliberate undermining of the federal element in the Indian state structure; (iii) institutional capture (the judiciary has even been named!!!) and (iv) finally, on the external front, complete isolation in the immediate neighborhood and China taking increasingly menacing stand vis-a-vis.
Regardless, the members from the treasury benches - including senior Ministers, kept noisily interrupting the moment a critical reference to the government is made.
