Follow-up Comment #1, task #7781 (project gregorio):
I would prefer \gre@ (lower-cased)... For the deprecation warning, there's a
package in the Oberdiek bundle for \PackageWarning in Plain, it can be used,
but only temporarily...
Also, no LaTeX command should be used outside of gregoriotex.sty, so no
\newcommand... The idea being that LaTeX is good, but Plain, LaTeX3 and
ConTeXt are good too, and it should be easy to adapt Gregorio to these
(especially ConTeXt).
