I've taken a glance at fix-662 and have to say that the direction Élie
is taking there is completely different from the solution I was thinking
of. As I haven't even tried to implement what I was thinking of yet I
don't know which solution would be better or if they would both
effectively get to the same end point. Once I finish up with the
annotation stuff, I'll play around with my ideas to see how it stacks up
against what Élie is doing.
On the release of 4.1, I'm inclined to wait a little bit simply because
we have several things changing rather quickly right now. The requests
have been coming in fairly steady since the release of 4.0, and I'd like
to work as many of those out as possible before implementing the feature
freeze for 4.1.
Of course we didn't implement the feature freeze for 4.0 until the
release candidate state, so I guess we could be ready for a beta sooner
than I thought.
