Hello, If you want to minimize the amount of manual linebreaking, you can try altering the values of \tolerance and \emergencystretch -- \tolerance is just an integer; \emergencystretch can be set with any TeX units of length (pt, in, em, etc.). Changing either/both can have significant impact on your layout, so some level of experimentation may be needed. The TeX default values are \tolerance=200 and \emergencystretch=0pt, and you would want to increase either/both. Increasing them too much, though, will produce significant whitespace in the scores. This ( http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=overfull ) page has a short summary of how these values affect the way line breaks are formed. Thanks for sharing your work; it looks like a very interesting project! Hope that helps, Tracy _______________________________________________ Gregorio-users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/gregorio-users
