Try: \setsecondannotation{ }
For the Vidi Aquam, I had to set both fonts to \tiny to make them fit.
\gresetfirstlineaboveinitial{\tiny \textsc{ANT.}}{\tiny \textsc{ANT.}}
\setsecondannotation{\tiny \textsc{VIII}}
