Dear All,

Thank you very much Michael for your description of the svn installation
of Gregorio, it is very precious! I'll put a first draft on the website
and you'll tell me if it's ok, does it sound good to you?

Side note to David Gippner<[email protected]>.

I haven't looked at the .pkg that you put together, so I do not know
where everything gets installed by it. But, from the above, I take it
that you've put everything in ~/Library. This is probably OK for
the.tex, .sty, and fonts, but it's not a such good idea to store
examples etc. For various reasons, Apple makes the ~/Library folder
invisible in OS 10.7 and subsequent, so many users will not know it's
there. Also, this strategy does not work well on multiuser machines.
Installing it into ~/Library means that only that user can run
gregorio. I recommend installing the gregorio .tex, .sty,& fonts
into /usr/local/texlive/texmf-local and the examples into ~/Documents
or perhaps /Users/Shared. This way gregorio is available to all
users.

That's definitely right! The best is to spot the TEXMFLOCAL directory by doing

kpsewhich -var-value TEXMFLOCAL

at installation time, so that the package can find the directory even if it's in a non-standard location. Do you think you could add this?

Thank you,

Elie
