Henry! That solved my problems. Now I can use Scribus, I'm happy!
And I noticed other remnants of previous installations of Gregorio (packaged versions?), after I removed a conflicting /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/gregoriotex/gregoriotex.sty I can also use TexWorks without glitches, as before. Only the centering-scheme:latin in the .gabc files doesn't work, but it is easy to comment this instruction out. I'll look for older duplicates and do a 'cleaning' to avoid more problems here... Thank you very much!
