I've addressed this issue in current svn by adding the <c> markup. For
example, with

(c3) ab(gh) <c>cd</c>(gh) ef(gh)

the text of the second syllable will be coloured. By default, the color
is the same as the red lines, but you can change it by redefining the
gregoriocolor color (see its definition in gregoriotex.sty).

I also think Mr Maire's suggestion on how to make some symbols
automatically colored is very good, as it doesn't "pollute" the gabc
with edition-specifig things (and is thus better for inclusion in gabc
databases).

I strongly suggest that anyone using color for text use whether Mr
Maire's method or the <c> markup, as a wrong usage of \color in TeX
might break your documents with latest gregoriotex version.
