Dear Maria, If that's indeed the case, then this would make a pretty nice default in a set of different rules for the editor to choose from. Olivier mentioned (I don't think his message got to the list) that maybe there should be an option in GregorioTeX for choosing the 1930s or the 1980s oriscus. Then maybe there should be a wider set of known rules, including the one you've just described, possibly with an additional TeX command that could be set manually for each individual oriscus as an exception mechanism...
