thx Connor,
line break fixed :)

Only the clef issue remains :)

cheers
Joei
The second problem is fixed by adding

initial-style: 0;

to the preamble (the stuff before the %%).

I know this because I did the same thing, and this user list helped me!

    Good Evening again,

    I've got two problems - I try to write just two lines of a complines
    hymn without text.

    Here the gabc
    #################################
    name: Bevor des Tages Licht vergeht;

    %%

    (g) (i)(h) (j) (j) (j) (i) (h_') (,)

    (h)(j) (j)(j) (g) (h) (g) (f.) (;) (z)

    (h) (h) (g) (j) (i) (h) (g) (hih___') (,)

    (h) (h) (g) (f) (g) (h) (g) (g.) (::) (z)
    #################################

    you may notice that I used "(z)" to force a line break, which
    works fine
    at the end of the first line
    but I would like the second line extended to the end (which works
    with
    the (z) but I'd like
    to end the line with a (::)

    Second Problem:
    when I add the clef (c4)
    #################################
    name: Bevor des Tages Licht vergeht;

    %%

    (c4)(g) (i)(h) (j) (j) (j) (i) (h_') (,)

    (h)(j) (j)(j) (g) (h) (g) (f.) (;) (z)

    (h) (h) (g) (j) (i) (h) (g) (hih___') (,)

    (h) (h) (g) (f) (g) (h) (g) (g.) (::) (z)
    #################################
    then gregorio wont compile "error: unable to find the first letter of
    the score"

    :(

    Sorry for bothering you all with such simple questions - is there any
    more detailed documentation
    than the stuff on http://home.gna.org/gregorio/gabc/ ?

    cheers and thx
    Joei
