Sorry. My fault. This comes from the ongoing revamp of the spacing
interface. One of the steps, that has been committed, made things so
that \grefactor is initialized at 17 (rather than being initialized to
0, assumed to be 1, and changed to 17 automatically at score start if
the user hadn't manually set it). This meant that the distances which
were defined in gsp-default.tex had to be enlarged by a factor of 17 so
that they reflected the actual default printed size instead of the
hypothetical printed size at \grefactor=1. This change was made to all
the distances in gsp-default.tex. Unfortunately, as I'm finding out the
hard way, some of those distances were already the size they were meant
to be at \grefactor=17. They also had been left off the list of
distances which were automatically scaled when \grefactor was changed.
The result is that they are now 17 times larger than they should be.
This is likely what you are seeing: aboveinitialseparation (which
controls the distance between the two annotations) is too large.
I'm in the process of finalizing the spacing interface change. In doing
it I introduced a potential problem for larger documents that I'm
attempting to unwind. However, that's a completely internal problem, so
I think I'll make sure I have a working state and then push the code
changes to github.
I've already fixed the issue with aboveinitialsperation in my working
copy. If anyone has seen any other spacing issues with the default
spacing in 2.4.2, please let me know ASAP so that I can roll them into
this release as well.
