This is what I've found so far. 2.5 -> 2.6 was a pretty big change, including a built-in custom (but switchable) version of the font loader. I am curious as to whether switching the font loader to the reference loader (or some other version) would make 2.6 work with gregorio. I will have to get my testing VM back-to-date, so I won't get to these experiments for a few days unless someone else is able to give it a try.
