Dear all,

There can be an occasion where the note prompted by a custos (i.e. the first
note of the next staff line) is a flat-ti. The Gregorio does nothing special in
this case, which I personally feel that the result is somewhat misleading - I
thought an accidental should also be placed before the custos in order to
indicate the right pitch of the next note. However, I didn't find such a case
in Graduale Romanum (is it specially avoided?) to support either behavior.

So the question is: with the square notation, should an accidental be placed
before the custos when the first note of the next staff line is actually an
accidental?

Thanks,

Michael Zhang
