Yah, well, they poisoned the chalice with systemd's de-unixification of
Linux. That could not be tolerated. (Up until then, I was happy enough
with Debian.)

Errr, I haven't looked at INSTALL.extra. The misinformation is in INSTALL, line 
66, which suggests "'cd' to the directory containing the package's source 
code." But there is no "configure" in groff-1.24.0/src, it is in the top of the 
tree.

I've just tamed boxes. Failing to pad the frame out satisfactorily with either 
B1/B2 or pic, I'm using tbl, with empty left & right cells to push the frame 
out acceptably. Vertical is easy, with just a blank line, or .sp, if finicky. 
And tbl's doublebox is a bonus.

I'll have to have another go at footers. I'm still not holding my mouth right. 
They'll appear in postscript output, but not print.

Ah ... Oh. Any though of naming that INSTALL.groff? I'll read it next
time, then. ;-)
