Re-reading the abstract, I can imagine the scope maybe appearing wider than the authors perhaps intended. The draft guidance is intended to be narrow: please avoid use of & filter extended communities *at IXP Route Servers*. The target audience of this draft BCP are IXP Route Server operators.
