OK....

First off, apologies to Peter. It would seem that in my previous post
I failed to scroll back far enough up the page and should have said I
was having "similar problems to Tony". Hope that clears things up for
everybody.

Peter... thanks for your swift response. Sorry I missed it, at the
time. Since then, other apps. have been registered in the Applications
Tab, including Yahoo Messenger & Burn. They have also both produced
notification messages and appear to be functioning as they should.
However, Firefox is still not showing in the Applications Tab of the
Growl Preference Pane.

The version of Firefox I have installed is 2.0.0.16 and, in so far as
I'm aware, there are no new updates since that. Being my preferred
browser, it's been used many times since my first post and still
hasn't been registered. Can anyone offer any Firefox-related
suggestions as to how to get it registered with Growl ?

Other apps. which failed to register are Salling Clicker and Stuffit
Expander. These are not such an issue for me. It's just that I saw
they were in the list of compatible software on the Growl website and
assumed that since I had them installed, they would be registered.
Neither of them has done so, despite having been launched several
times since Growl was installed. I believe this could be due to my
having older versions of those programs installed.

Finally, thanks for the info on Adium, as regards incoming message
notification. I've made a note of it should I decide to make use of
that feature.
