yes, that is exactly what it means :)  the Finder lies like a rug.   
you have not yet successfully removed the files that Peter asked you  
to remove.

to do so, run the following command from within the Terminal:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Mail/Bundles/GrowlMail.mailbundle

**NOTE** please be VERY CAREFUL and paste this command exactly as i  
have typed it here!  a mistake at this point could remove files that  
you don't want removed.

you will be prompted for your Password; enter it, and the command  
should terminate with no output.  then quit and restart Mail and see  
if the problem recurs.
