i realize your package is read-only. i had dragged the old Growl
Extras folder onto my computer and when i updated had mistakenly not
remembered to replace it with the new Extras folder. therefore when i
was, irrelevantly, referring to my growlSafari folder it was out of
date and still had the text file saying it required SIMBL and needed
to be placed in SIMBL's Plugins folder. i stand corrected.

You say that as if the Extras folder is modifiable. It's not; our disk
images are read-only.

Unless you're referring to some other Extras folder, in which case (a)
I don't know what Extras folder you're talking about and (b) it's not
relevant.

Quite possible. Remember, the Growl package only installs Growl; it
doesn't also update the Extras. You still have to go to each Extra's
folder and do its installation separately, just as you did the first
time.
