Dear Growl Developers, Two more snippets to help you diagnose this problem. I am experiencing the same problem attempting to GrowlTunes send notifications from one computer to the other. First, I confirmed that other sorts of notifications are transmitted properly between the two computers using growlnotify. Alas, GrowlTunes notifications do not get displayed on the receiving computer and after a GrowlTunes notification is displayed on the transmitting computer, I find the GrowlHelperApp in a pseudo-zombie state on the receiving computer. GrowlHelperApp remains responsive to OS-X, but not to Growl itself. The behavior seems identical to what I previously observed with AppleScript.
On the other hand, sending network notifications using growlnotify does work correctly, even transmitting icons to the receiving computer. The icon is displayed correctly and GrowlHelperApp continues to run properly. So your implementation in growlnotify works as "advertised." I hope this might assist you in making a diagnosis and at least conceptualizing the code-fix. Thanks again for your most innovative software and concept. Sincerely, Edouard Lagache [email protected] P.S. These tests are on the same two computers: both Intel Macs running OS-10.5.8 and Growl 1.2. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
