We would have mentioned a change like this in the release notes of any release. I do not believe this is addressed yet.
In the post you link to, I posted a link to a ticket in our ticket system. To follow the status of this, please click on the star icon in the top left of the bug. That will subscribe you to the bug, and I believe you will receive a notification when something changes on it.
