I was looking at the roadmap earlier and noticed that Sparkle integration is 
planned in 1.3. I cloned the repo and found that there's a previous branch 
named `sparkle` indicating it'd been a part of Growl at some point (the list of 
modified files shows the typical Sparkle/SU*.m/h files).

I've never used Mercurial before, and I'm having difficulty switching to that 
branch to learn what happened to it. I found a few tutorials online that were 
recommended more than once by the hg community so I'm going to run through 
those to get a better feel for it, as I think it has a lot more differences 
from git than I'd ignorantly assumed.

I don't really have a preference between the backend and GUI; I'd just be happy 
to contribute wherever you feel is a good starting point.
