Yes, of course. If I read them using the Mail app on my iPod touch or
the webmail interface on a public computer, they show up as read on my
MacBook when I get home (since they're all via IMAP).

Is the intended behavior that the user get Growl notifications for the
newly-downloaded but previously-read-from-another-device emails?
