On the Chromium blog, they've posted about their implementation of the Notifications API that was at one point part of HTML5. http://blog.chromium.org/2010/05/desktop-notifications-now-available-to.html
Many Mac users (myself included) MUCH prefer Growl integration instead, but they've said that they implemented their own UI because of limitations in Growl and other platform-specific notification systems. Have you guys tried to engage the Chromium team to work together on this?
