Thanks for your reply.  I checked the Keychain and didn't see a
password stored there.  Keep in mind that this is for a Mac.com/Me.com/
MobileMe account so one would assume (problem right there, eh?) that
the password would be stored there.

I've attempted to do a couple of things:

1. I tried to manually create an entry in the Keychain for this SMTP
account by duplicating another SMTP Keychain item and changing the
appropriate information.  After doing so the icon for the one I
created still looks like an Application Keychain item (the capital "A"
with the ruler on it) instead of an "Internet Application" (using the
"@" symbol).

2. I tried changing the address in the MailMe panel to one of the
addresses that does have an SMTP Keychain item and using the Preview
function again - with the same result.

It's clear from the Console messages that this has something to do
with the SMTP settings, passwords, etc., but I can't figure it out.
If you can, I'll be very grateful.
