After a bit of troubleshooting (<a href="http://arstechnica.com/civis/ viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1119077">see my posting here on Ars Technica's forums</a>) I think I've found a problem between Safari 5.0.1 and Growl 1.2.1.
When Growl is running on my laptop (Mac OS 10.6.4 on a first-gen MacBook Pro), periodically I get signed out of my Google Account, which affects (at least) Google Reader and Google Docs, possibly other apps (but not, strangely, Gmail). The problem also affected a Fluid Single-Serving Browser app for Google Reader. It would happen several times an hour, often minutes apart. I did not suspect Growl at first, but found <a href="http:// reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10329959-263.html">an old MacFixit thread and comments that pointed me at Growl</a>. Turning off Growl has made the problem go away. I don't know if this is a problem on Safari's end, or Growl's, but I'm reporting it to both support teams just in case. If you need any more information on this to see if you can reproduce it or track the actual cause down, feel free to ask. Thanks for your support; I really like Growl and would love to have it back, but for now, reading my RSS takes precedence. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
