Hi - Growl was installed on my system without my knowledge or my approval. Things were very confusing for a while. "wtf, where are these notifications coming from... I mean they are cool, but..."
I went to the Growl.info site and in red at the top of the page is a link to an explanation that says that DropBox (an online storage solution that I was evaluating) was the culprit. Growl goes on to say, "We do not endorse applications installing Growl without your permission. In fact, we hate it." I love you guys. That rocks. I am deleting DropBox (evil service... don't use them). I will keep Growl for a while to see if it is worth keeping. Just wanted to show appreciation for the very upfront honesty and directness regarding unapproved installs. Peace. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
