It does. I like it.

I don't think we have the manpower to actually implement this at this time, but 
a patch for it would be welcomed.

In the meantime, you can extend the lifetime of a single notification 
indefinitely by putting your mouse cursor over it. This obviously doesn't scale 
to the situation you're talking about, though.
