Chris, With all do respect I fully believe it is because of Growl after running some more tests.
After reinstalling the program it *seemed* to work fine, but now I'm thinking I didn't let it sleep for long enough. Now after sleeping for 2+ hours with Growl installed the problem is happening again. If I stop/uninstall Growl and let the computer fall asleep it does wake up properly. I haven't changed any other setting or installed/uninstalled any programs during this testing period other than Growl. As I type this I'm on hold with Apple so I will try and probe into what might be causing this. -- R.J.
