I have the Growl sound locked-in on Skype and cannot get rid of it. I am an iMac newbie, and in the process of getting rid of what appears to be a nuisance as it howls in Skype. But my efforts have shed a new light on Growl. As I studied the discussions, I find that I'd really like to use Growl if I can get it installed properly.
When I looked in Applications, I cannot find Growl. When I used Spotlight I found Growl several times, clicked on all, nothing good came from Spotlight. I cannot find Growl in System Preferences. When I went to growl.info/documentation/growl-package-removal.php, it simply said to "download the Growl Uninstaller...and Run". I cannot find the install program for Growl so that I can follow through with the Uninstall. I do understand that I must have Growl's Application showing somewhere before I can get to it's Uninstaller. I'd love to have a functioning Growl so that it would announce Skype......if someone could tell me my next step; I do not have a clue.
