It wasn't a complete rewrite, that was a few websites taking liberties in 
their writing. We did completely redo things like networking, but that's not 
preferences. While I can understand your point, you need to understand that 
we're looking to redo most of Growl over the course of 5-6 versions, not in a 
single massive update. Do not expect the applications tab to change until 2.0. 
We still have 1.4 and 1.5 on the roadmap before then, and there may even be a 
1.6. I'm laying this out so that you have your expectations corrected based on 
what we're doing here. We have a lot of work in order to get to anything close 
that's in the applications tab mockup you see there, so do not expect anything 
like this for about.. oh I'd say at least six months to a year. It could be 
shorter than that, it just depends on other priorities which we must tend to 
first. This is on our list for the interface redesign (which was not slated for 
this or any 1.x version), and we fully intend to make the applica
tions tab better, we just need to also do it right and not rush it.
