actually (i was sure this had been done), i had to manually add growl to the 
apps list. I installed growl on my wife's computes with no problems. I am 
unsure why i did not automatically place itself in the list nor why it would 
not remember that i had "allowed" this app but it works fine now after manually 
adding it, no worries.. Thank you for the responses..
