So after rebooting and turning off Growl 0.7.6, and then downloading the Uninstall Growl (again) I confirmed the 0.7.6 Growl was not in the System Preferences. Then I started Growl 1.3.3 again. And for the moment it is providing updates and something besides the growl plist. I still get the growl plist updates quite often, I am seeing others, which is nice.
I think I have been in this situation before, the stuff working. But earlier today I was not seeing anything from growl and I think I was at this same point of having uninstalled the earlier growl.
