If you also have Growl installed, you can disable the power related notifications in Growl. To do this, go into Growl's Preferences, Applications Tab, find HardwareGrowler, go into its settings, and go to the notifications tab, find in the popup any notifications relating to Power, and uncheck their enabled box. If you don't have Growl installed, HardwareGrowler 2.0 is nearing done, and has the ability to disable various parts (be it the notes for Volume mount/unmount or Power related ones) entirely. I don't have an exact timeline on HardwareGrowler 2.0, but it will be entering beta after WWDC next week.
