I see. In a non-techy sort of way (^_^)

I actually tried deleting and reinstalling HardwareGrowler as I wrote at 
the start of this topic, and it didn't improve things...

Would uninstalling and then reinstalling both Growl and HardwareGrowler at 
the same time help?
