hi Andy,

I have a somewhat similar problem. I've already set the positions of the 
notifications on the bottom right side of the screen, but every time i 
started up my comp, the notifications appeared on the top right corner till 
i manually bring growl preferences to the foreground, then the positions 
will be corrected. Running on a MBP.

I've tried deleting Growl app and the associated files and reinstalling. 
Problem still persists...
